I am running for U.S. Congress in 2010. I believe that our United
States government is facing a moral crisis. As a country we are
in danger of forsaking the moral cornerstone upon which our nation
was founded. No longer do many of our leaders make decisions based
on constitutional imperatives, time-honored values, or Christian
principles.
Foundational phrases like “One Nation under God” and “In
God We Trust,” which symbolize the genesis of our nation, are daily being assaulted by individuals and organizations with seemingly
socialist agendas. Activist judges are virtually making laws from their benches, thereby usurping the powers of our U.S. Congress.
Members of Congress are challenging the constitutional powers of the executive branch. The executive branch through utilizing executive
orders is making judicial decrees. Where established order is not upheld, there is chaos. The current political chaos does not serve the
citizens of our country well.
Dr. Deborah Honeycutt understands small business because she owns one. She knows the concerns of every small business owner and the challenges
faced everyday by those who are on the front line providing jobs and growing our economy. She also believes our member of congress should fight
FOR small business and not against them.
I believe that our current tax system does not meet the standards expected by Americans. I have examined alternatives and found the FairTax to offer the best hope of returning our tax system to our constitutional principles, providing both increased fairness and dramatic simplification, as well as positioning this country to continue to prosper in the increasingly competitive global marketplace of the 21st century.
Dr. Deborah Honeycutt is a true servant leader, not only does she continue to make a difference in her community but around the world. Dr. Honeycutt is continuing her work with Haiti which began nearly two decades ago when she provided critical medical services at the Baptist Missionary Hospital in Cape Haitian. Dr. Honeycutt looks at the need and opportunity for state of the art training and service medical facilities. She is working with Haitian officials in a long term capacity to revive Haiti's medical facilities. Dr. Honeycutt believes that all deserve quality health care and is proud of this core effort that will elevate Haiti from the brink of ruin. Dr. Honeycutt's proven leadership and genuine concern for others, is why she should be the next Congressperson representing Georgia's 13th Congressional District.
